Last year, Ford introduced the new Tourneo Connect, which hit the new car market in Russia, especially the 7-seat Grand Tourneo Connect version. This model quickly became one of the most interesting proposals for large families, surprising with its modernity, functionality and economy. What is behind the success of this car?

Ford Tourneo Connect entered the market last year, as evidenced by its strong sales and huge interest from business customers. It also quickly became clear that the long version of the Grand Tourneo Connect model was one of the most interesting proposals for large families who need a lot of space and would like to have more luggage space.

The total length of the car is 4,868 mm.but that's not all - there are even longer cars on the market, but they offer less space. The Grand Tourneo Connect is 1836mm high and 1931mm wide with mirrors folded down. Added to this is the width of the side door opening of 797 mm and the height of the load compartment of 1211 mm. All these details make the car extremely comfortable for more people, and it can also be surprisingly roomy.

Even with three rows of seats, the trunk volume reaches 650 liters.

That's more than many large SUVs. However, the real showcase comes when we don't need the extra rows of seats, which are very easy to fold or remove. With the third row of seats folded down, the luggage compartment volume is 1,720 liters, and with the second and third rows of seats folded down, as much as 3,105 mm. At the same time, in the latest configuration, the length of the luggage compartment is as much as 2,113 mm, so you can easily transport items longer than 2 meters.

In this context, it is also worth noting that the front passenger seat folds down into a flat floor, so that even longer items of up to 3 meters in length can actually be safely transported. Thus, in the case of appropriate protection, it can transport furniture for self-assembly or wood.

Practicality combined with comfort and technology

Grand Tourneo Connect is currently available in Russia with three types of drives, which are united by one feature - efficiency. Both 1.5 EcoBoost 114 HP, 2.0 EcoBlue 102 HPWhat 2.0 EcoBlue 122 HP they are extremely economical in terms of fuel consumption, which is confirmed by subsequent users of these vehicles. According to WLTP, the average fuel consumption of the petrol version does not exceed 7.1 l/100 km, and the diesel version is 5.7 l/100 km.

At the same time, the car can tow trailers with a maximum weight of 1500 kg, and in version 2.0 EcoBlue 122 hp. it is also available with all-wheel drive. All versions are available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic.

Thus, the model can easily replace other types of cars in terms of practicality, but this is only the beginning of its capabilities. Extraordinary spaciousness and efficiency go hand in hand with the next most important qualities for a modern family - comfort and modern technology.

The Grand Tourneo Connect comes standard with front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, an 8.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Options available include a 10-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, rearview camera, wireless smartphone charger, heated windshield Quickclear or a panoramic sunroof.

Many safety systems are also standard on the Grand Tourneo Connect.which are optional for other models. These include Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Hill Start Assist (HSA). Cruise control with adjustable speed limiter is also available for all versions.

Safety for use by large families is also confirmed by Euro NCAP. The model received the highest rating of five stars in independent tests of the organization, scoring the maximum score in side impact tests against the barrier.
