The new Fiat (Tipo) RED and the new Fiat (Panda) RED will soon join the (500) RED family launched last September. Fiat continues its commitment to sustainability as part of its commitment to society and contributes to a better future by strengthening its partnership with (RED), an organization that has been fighting pandemics around the world for 15 years.
Fiat partnership with (RED) continues
Fiat interprets, represents and expresses the values of the "Italian dolce vita" throughout the world, and the fight against pandemics is in line with this value. However, in the age of COVID, it is difficult to talk about the "sweet life". Today, the partnership between Fiat and (RED) is even stronger, and with the expansion of the (Fiat)RED range, the opportunities to spread the word about the community's shared commitment and active participation in building a better future will also multiply.
As part of the fight against the pandemic, Fiat offers a range of in-car solutions to help keep your car clean:
- (Fiat) RED models are equipped with an air conditioning cabin filter that has a high biocide (> 99.9% when coated) against bacteria, preventing re-aerosolization in the cabin.
- The steering wheel and seats, surfaces that frequently come into contact with the body, are also treated with a highly effective biocide (up to 99.9% depending on components) against viruses and bacteria.
- The welcome pack - a specially designed antibacterial gel dispenser and a special key case - is an added touch of personalization.

New Fiat (500) RED
The new Fiat (500) RED has been enriched with a unique piece of equipment that is useful in everyday life - a "storage box with a sterilization function with a UV lamp" ("disinfecting glove box"). This is a new system that uses a UV lamp. According to laboratory tests, UV-C radiation effectively kills more than 99% of viruses and bacteria on the surface of objects within 1 second and from a distance of 2 cm.
The UV-C lamp is located in the glove compartment and helps to disinfect the surface of the smartphone, house keys and other small everyday items. A blue light on the glove box and an audible signal indicate the end of the 3-minute disinfection cycle.
As always, Fiat offers simple yet innovative and useful solutions. "Protect the planet and its inhabitants" - the principle of the new Fiat 500 inspired engineers to develop an innovative solution.
