Ford unveils all-electric E Tourneo Courier

Ford introduced the new generation E Tourneo Courier in Copenhagen. The premiere took place at Bring On Tomorrow Live, showcasing Ford's new, uncompromising electrification-focused mindset.

Designed for adventure and driving pleasure, the E Tourneo Courier is a five-seater for active people with a distinctive silhouette that is reminiscent of the SUV segment. It offers plenty of space for passengers and their luggage in a compact body that fits perfectly into the urban lifestyle.

The newest member of the extensive Ford Tourneo family features a sophisticated all-electric powertrain, complemented by a rich array of digital and connected features that make electric driving fun and easy, as well as convenient over-the-air upgrades that sometimes improve their car.

The E Tourneo Courier is one of 10 all-electric models that Ford will offer in Europe by 2024, and the next step towards a European zero-emission vehicle lineup that Ford aims to achieve by 2035. The company is investing $50 billion to reach its annual goal of producing 2 million all-electric vehicles by 2026.

An all-electric version will arrive in Europe in 2024. It will follow the EcoBoost gasoline-powered Tourneo Courier, which will open for orders this summer, with first units arriving later this year.

Bold new exterior and interior design

The E Tourneo Courier combines distinctive off-road styling cues, futuristic electric vehicle solutions and practicality essential for an active lifestyle and outdoor activities.

Both the all-electric and petrol versions of the EcoBoost feature an all-new body style with a high bonnet line and short overhangs for a low seating position, while black-painted A-pillars create a lower roofline and a sleek glass cockpit. The E Tourneo Courier's unique aesthetic is enhanced by a diamond-patterned chrome front grille with integrated headlights, Ford-specific LED lighting strip across the front, and aerodynamic wheel designs.

The E Tourneo Courier will also feature a new palette of bold paints, including Cactus Grey, Fantastic Red Metallic and Bursting Green. Active Series models have an optional contrast roof paint - a familiar feature from the extreme Ford Bronco - and come standard with special 17-inch wheels, roof bars, fender flares, skid plates and unique seat fabrics that highlight this vehicle's adventurous nature. model.

Smart use of space

The optimization of the body shape means that the interior of the E Tourneo Courier is much more spacious and practical than the previous model. Increased headroom and shoulder room for a more comfortable ride.

The longer and wider boot increased capacity by more than 44 percent to 570 liters. The new model can also carry 100kg more than the previous generation car, allowing five people to go on holiday without worrying about the weight of their luggage.

The rear seats are 60/40 split and can be easily folded and lowered to suit the needs of the customer. If owners need to carry larger items, the E Tourneo Courier offers ample 2,162 liters of luggage space with the rear seats folded down, stacking luggage up to the ceiling – an increase of more than 500 liters.

The standard tailgate can keep out the rain when it's open, while the large loading bay and low sill make it easy to pack leisure gear or jumping dogs into the trunk. The luggage compartment side panels offer convenient storage areas, including a fold-down storage compartment that can be used to carry large items closed.

A 44-litre front rack is standard on all Tourneo Courier E models and is ideal for storing small items such as charging cables, a warning triangle and a first aid kit.

The maximum towable weight of the E Tourneo Courier is 700kg, allowing customers to tow inflatable boats or a trailer with construction and gardening tools. A towbar and a 13-pin electrical connector are available as optional equipment. Tourneo Courier with EcoBoost petrol engine can tow up to 1000 kg.

Next Generation Fuel Efficient Powertrain

The new E-Powertrain Tourneo Courier electric transmission delivers a more enjoyable driving experience with a quiet, smooth ride without shifting and intuitive controls that make travel truly relaxing. The model supports special integrated charging services and software that help both beginners and experienced owners cope with the operation of the electric model. For easier and more economical driving in congested cities, the model is fitted with a switchable "single-pedal" system as standard. The model offers Scheduled Pre-Conditioning, which allows you to remotely set the optimum temperature in the cabin and the operating temperature of the battery during charging before departure, thus maximizing the range and comfort of the car. The system is programmed using the SYNC 4 touch screen.

To reduce driver fatigue and help protect the vehicle and its occupants, the model is equipped with the widest range of advanced driver assistance systems ever offered as standard in the compact multi-purpose vehicle segment. These are, among other things:
