New Mazda CX-60 PHEV
As a vehicle that demonstrates Mazda's commitment to a holistic approach to sustainable mobility and the brand's commitment to making the right decisions at the right time, the Mazda CX-60 is designed to meet the growing needs of this segment. With this model, the manufacturer enriches the range of SUVs, combining the latest environmental parameters with the driving pleasure characteristic of every Mazda car.
The Mazda CX-60 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) version introduces the manufacturer's first fully hybrid plug-in powertrain. Thus, Mazda's new flagship model embodies everything that the brand has put into its genes over the past hundred years - from outstanding exterior and interior design, inspiration from the best Japanese craftsmanship, to the latest human-centered technological innovations and world order. leading systems.
External and internal design
The impressive visual power of the beautiful, dynamic styling of the new Mazda CX-60 expresses all the intelligence and elegance of the latest Kodo design philosophy woven into the sporty architecture of a rear-wheel drive, front-engined SUV.
The elegant interior design confirms the premium class, combining different materials and textures, such as maple wood, Nappa leather, unusual Japanese fabrics, chrome details and special stitching on the instrument panel.
Human-centered technology has been reimagined and refined to take the Jinba-Ittai experience to an even higher level and cater to the individual needs of drivers more than ever before. The revolutionary Mazda Driver Customization system - a system that adjusts the optimal driving position - recognizes which of the remembered faces is sitting in the driver's seat and automatically adapts the environment - settings for the seat, steering wheel, mirrors, HUD and even the audio system. and air conditioning systems, adapting them to the physical form and personal preferences of users.
Power unit Mazda CX-60
The Mazda CX-60 PHEV version is Europe's leading plug-in hybrid offering with external traction battery charging. This drive combines a 2.5 liter direct injection Skyactiv-G four-cylinder petrol engine, a large 100 kW electric motor and a powerful 17.8 kWh 355 V battery.
The combination of petrol and electric motors creates a total system output of 327 hp/241 kW and a huge maximum torque of 500 Nm, making this version of the Mazda CX-60 the most powerful road car in the brand's history. The Mazda CX-60 PHEV also delivers impressive performance: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h.
In terms of efficiency, the new PHEV drive achieves excellent environmental performance, especially when powered solely by the electric motor. Combined WLTP fuel consumption is 1.5 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions with the same cycle and measurement method are only 33 g/km. Mazda CX-60 e-Skyactiv PHEV allows you to drive 60 km in pure electric mode at speeds up to 100 km/h.
Thanks to the location of the high-voltage battery between the front and rear axles and as low as possible under the floor, the new Mazda CX-60 PHEV has a particularly low center of gravity. This fact, combined with permanent all-wheel drive with transmission of torque between the axles through a gearbox, contributes to excellent handling characteristics of the car, which is not inferior to the best models of the premium segment.
The new model will also feature two next-generation engines designed according to the concept of "the right fit", that is, choosing the right displacement to improve overall efficiency (fuel and power savings at the same time). These will be inline six-cylinder engines: a 3.0-liter e-Skyactiv X petrol engine and a 3.3-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine with two different power levels. Powered by the Mazda M Hybrid Boost system, a 48V mild hybrid, these units combine high power with outstanding fuel economy and CO₂ emission results.
Eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive
All three powertrains are paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ All-Wheel Drive. The e-Skyactiv D diesel engine and the e-Skyactiv X petrol engine are also available in rear-wheel drive only. The Mi-Drive (Mazda Intelligent Drive Select) system offers a choice of four driving modes (plus a purely electric EV mode in the PHEV version) to ensure optimal vehicle control and driving pleasure in any driving situation.
The new Mazda CX-60 is based on the manufacturer's feature-rich, scalable Skyactiv architecture, with numerous modifications to deliver superior dynamic performance. These enhancements, in line with Mazda's human-centered approach, include increased body rigidity that allows the driver to immediately feel the car's responses; seats, thanks to which it is even easier for all people to maintain the natural balance of the body while driving; a suspension that stabilizes the car's kinetic behavior; and a unique Mazda Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system for controlling the car's kinematic behavior.
I-Activsense's extensive suite of advanced driver assistance technologies provides best-in-class active safety with the goal of achieving the highest safety ratings of 5 Euro NCAP stars.
Mazda CX-60 is equipped with a number of modern technological solutions. These include: See-Through View, a next-generation 360-degree camera system that improves visibility when driving at low speeds, and Hill Descent Control (HDC), which helps you safely navigate steep descents with slippery or uneven surfaces; cruise control (i-ACC), which can now take into account speed limits based on information received from the traffic sign recognition system, and the BSM function - a warning before leaving the car under the wheels of an oncoming vehicle from behind.

In the coming years, Mazda will continue to develop powertrain electrification for a wide range of new models. The Mazda MX-30 REV will combine an all-electric powerplant with a Wankel-powered range generator to increase range. In 2023, the company will release a new model larger than the CX-60 and equipped with three rows of seats.
Mazda electrification
Over the next three years, Mazda will launch a total of five new electrified products using a multi-format platform architecture. After 2025, the company will launch the new Skyactiv EV scalable architecture, a unique technology that will allow Mazda to efficiently build electric vehicles of various sizes using one common platform.
