Sometimes less is more: reduced insulation between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment means the RS 4 Avant and RS 5 will delight customers with great sound. The twin-turbocharged V6 engine develops 331 kW (450 hp) and 600 Nm of torque from 1900 to 5000 rpm (combined fuel consumption in l/100 km: 8.8-8, 7; combined CO2 emissions, g/km: 201–199). The Audi RS 4 Avant and RS 5 with Competition packages will be available from dealers from July.

The RS Pro sports suspension is geared towards driving pleasure, but also features manual suspension adjustment that strikes the perfect balance between comfort and performance. Thanks to this, even long distances can be covered comfortably, without any restrictions, using all available assistance systems. Buyers who opt for this coilover suspension will get their RS 4 Avant or RS 5 with the suspension factory set to 10mm lower than standard RS models.

Audi RS5 Sportback Competition Plus

In addition, customers can manually lower the suspension height by another 10mm, bringing the overall suspension down to 20mm below standard. A higher modulus of elasticity, three-stage adjustable dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars provide even greater overall driving pleasure and help reduce lap times. The result: customers benefit from more precise and agile handling. Both packages also feature an increased top speed of 290 km/h.

The Audi RS 4 Avant (combined fuel consumption in litres/100 km: 8.8-8.7; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 201-199) accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds with the Competition Plus package is 0.2 seconds faster than the series standard. Audi RS 5 Coupé or RS 5 Sportback (fuel consumption combined in liters/100 km: 8.8-8.7; CO2 emissions combined in g/km: 201-199) covers this distance in 3.8 seconds , 0.1 second improvement.

The gear ratio of the dynamic steering system was set to 1:13.1. Thanks to all these improvements, Audi Sport GmbH offers its customers the confident handling and even better traction of these models. The improved quattro sports differential ensures greater agility and driving pleasure, especially in "dynamic" driving mode. A new set of data in the control unit with modified parameters decisively shifts the focus of driving to the rear of the car.

Audi RS4 Avant Competition Plus

In addition, updated software in the gearbox control unit – only in conjunction with the Competition packages – allows for shorter shift times and a noticeably wider spread between different driving modes. An increase in dynamics, in turn, requires an increase in negative acceleration. Combined with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, newly developed ABS software and an RS braking system with ceramic discs, the braking distance from 100 km/h is two meters shorter.

Audi Sport GmbH is also introducing a new RS plus sports exhaust system with tailpipes in matt black, specially developed for these packages. Its advantage is a more intense sound, not only thanks to the exhaust system itself, but above all due to the reduced insulation between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment, which further reduces the car's weight by about eight kilograms. Fine-tuning of the engine control unit software allows more precise load changes in S-mode when the "dynamic" function is activated, further enhancing driving pleasure.

Updated look

Both the Competition and Competition Plus packages boast eye-catching interior changes, with the seat side panels now shimmering in black piano lacquer. An optional Dinamica/Pearl Nappa material combination is available for standard RS seats. Dinamica on 45% consists of recycled PET fibers; There are about 215 grams of PET fiber per seat. The four rings on the Singleframe grille and on the boot lid, as well as the black high-gloss black lettering of the model name, emphasize the vehicle's sporty character.

For the first time on the RS 4 and RS 5, the body is now available in Sebring Black with a crystal effect. Customers who want to further enhance the sporty look of their RS 4 Avant or RS 5 can opt for Phantom Black glossy black wheels. For an additional fee, upon request, Audi will combine 20-inch fully milled wheels with high-performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, which are designed for both road and racetrack use. The Audi RS 5 comes standard with Matrix LED headlights that illuminate the path with laser light.

The Competition Trim package complements the Audi RS 4 Avant and Audi RS 5 with an exclusive Carbon Matte Optics design package that includes exterior mirrors, front skirt, side air intakes, as well as sill extensions and rear diffuser trim. , finished in sporty matte Carbon; all other elements glow black.
