BMW is updating the BMW X3 and BMW X4 models with new looks, better equipment and a customer-optimized offer. A new front end and a redesigned rear end emphasize the rugged off-road look and sporty look of the BMW X3. The Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) The BMW X4 replaces the BMW X3 at the front, gets its own highlights with the exclusive BMW mesh grille and gives the rear a particularly dynamic look.

The new lineup offers more emphasis on sportiness and "X-ness" as well as greater definition thanks to thoughtful cutbacks. As an alternative to the standard equipment with high-quality X elements, the M sports package and the well-known M variants are available.

The world premiere of the new BMW X3 and the new BMW X4 will take place at the Chengdu Auto Show, China (August 27 to September 5). European premiere will take place at the IAA in Munich (September 7-12). After the start of production at the plant in Spartanburg (USA) in August 2021, market entry will begin.

BMW X4 M40i

The BMW grille, which is more pronounced at the top, is larger than before and now has a one-piece frame. The black spacer on which iCam is located, depending on the configuration, provides optical separation of the parts of the radiator grille. Headlamps with full LED technology, flattened by approximately 10 mm, are standard. In addition to the optional adaptive LED headlights with matrix function (standard on the BMW X4), BMW laser lights with a range of up to 650 meters are now also available as an option.

Redesigned front apron with vertical air intakes, strong body-coloured large surfaces and a durable end cap. New full LED taillights with black surround, narrower headlamps, 3D plier contours and finely integrated horizontal turn signals for the BMW X3; A newly designed and lavishly painted skid plate at the rear and oversized, smooth-ended tailpipes.

A total of eleven standard colors for the BMW X3, including the new Skyscraper Gray metallic (from 21 December), the M Sport package Brooklyn Gray metallic and the BMW Individual paint finish in Aventurine Red and Tanzanite Blue; The new Piedmont Red metallic is also available exclusively for the BMW X4; For both models, numerous special BMW Individual paints are available for the first time, including matt, incl. also metallic Frozen Deep Grey.

A 10.25-inch touchscreen center display is now standard, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen available as an option. New center console from current BMW 4 Series with control panel for BMW iDrive controller, shift lever, engine start button, start/stop buttons, electric parking brake, hill descent assist and driving functions. New generation Sensatek sports seats with new Ray design and perforated main seats, plus automatic air conditioning with 3-zone adjustment as standard.

BMW X3 all-wheel drive

After three diesels, three petrol engines are now also equipped with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, in which a 48-volt reversible alternator with 8 kW (11 hp) electric charging provides even higher performance while reducing fuel consumption and comfort driving; in addition, there is the BMW X3 xDrive30e with plug-in hybrid drive; power range from 135 kW (184 hp) to 265 kW (360 hp).

BMW xDrive all-wheel drive and 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard, the BMW X3 M40i and BMW X3 M40d, as well as all BMW X4s, are factory-equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with paddle shifters and Launch Control.

A recently revised and significantly expanded range of modern driver assistance systems: For the first time, Driving Assistant Professional and BMW Driving Recorder are available as optional extras for the BMW X3 and BMW X4, while the optional Parking Assistant now includes Reverse Assist.

BMW Live Cockpit Plus with 10.25" center display as standard, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with fully digital display consisting of 12.3" instrument cluster and center display, and optional BMW Head-Up Display.

Cloud navigation with BMW Maps offers significant performance improvements, high accuracy, simplified destination entry and extremely fast and dynamic route calculation. Smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™; The My BMW app provides information about the vehicle's status and, depending on equipment, also provides remote access functions such as vehicle location, locking and unlocking the doors, or recording the vehicle's surroundings (3D Remote View).

Additional features of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant: You can now, for example, adjust the air conditioning, open and close windows or change driving modes. Thanks to the BMW 7 operating system and remote software update, the BMW X3 and BMW X4 always have the latest software, and updates for new services and additional vehicle features can be downloaded over the air.
