As a result of the platform change, the new Santa Fe offers an additional three inches of legroom in the second row and an additional four inches of legroom in the third row. The capacity of the luggage compartment has also been increased.

The new Santa Fe is equipped with Hyundai's SmartSense comprehensive active safety system and meets the highest European safety standards. Additional enhancements to active safety systems keep the new Santa Fe on par with top competitors.

New Smartstream drive systems - hybrid and diesel

The new top Hyundai SUV received a completely new line of powertrains. Known from its predecessor, the 2.0 and 2.2 CRDI diesel engines from 185 to 200 horsepower have been replaced by a hybrid drive and a new diesel engine. The new, more powerful powertrains range from 202 to 235 horsepower, while consuming less fuel thanks to improved efficiency.

The hybrid version of the new Santa Fe is equipped with a 180 hp Smartstream 1.6 T-GDi engine. and an electric motor with a power of 44.2 kW. The hybrid system has a total output of 230 hp. and a torque of 350 Nm, which is transmitted to the front axle or to all wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission, depending on the version. The front-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 187 km/h. Alternatively, customers will be able to choose the new 2.2-litre Smartstream diesel engine, which has been upgraded to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. Unlike the engines of the previous generation, the new cylinder block is made of aluminum, which has reduced the weight by 19.5 kg. The four-cylinder engine produces 202 hp. and 440 Nm of torque, which is transmitted to four wheels through a new 8-speed DCT gearbox. This version of the engine has a top speed of 205 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds. The fuel consumption of this unit is from 6.7 to 6.9 liters per 100 km, and CO2 emissions are from 176 to 181 g/km. Thanks to the use of new efficient and economical transmissions, it has become possible to improve performance, flexibility and reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Compared to its predecessor, emissions are reduced by 6.2-17.5%, depending on the selected transmission and equipment version.

There are three trim levels to choose from - Premium, Executive and Platinum.

To offer buyers a wide choice, the new Hyundai Santa Fe is available in three trim levels - Premium, Executive and Platinum, which are offered with attractive packages. All versions are available in the standard 5-person variant, while the 7-person variant is offered at an additional cost of 5000 USD. (4 c.u. = 1 USD), regardless of the version. The 7-seat variant is also equipped with a ventilation and air conditioning control panel in the rear, as well as an additional USB port.

Prices for the basic Premium version start at $165,900. (4 c.u. = 1 USD) for a car with a hybrid drive and all-wheel drive. It is worth noting that the base price of the new model is lower by as much as $9,500. (4 USD = 1 USD), and in addition, the new Santa Fe offers a much richer standard equipment.

Compared to its predecessor, on board there is a keyless entry system, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, an 8-inch color touch-screen infotainment system, digital DAB radio and Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity, an on-board computer with 4.2 inch color screen. display, Intelligent Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC), Forward Collision Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection (FCA) with turn at junction, Lane Keeping Assist (LFA), electric folding mirrors and LED headlights.

The top version of the Platinum with a hybrid drive cost $213,900. (4 c.u. = 1 USD). On the other hand, the diesel option, which is only available with the Platinum trim level, costs $235,900. (4 c.u. = 1 USD), which is 9,700 c.u. (4 c.u. = 1 USD) less than its predecessor with a 2.2 CRDI engine. Considering the fact that the new model has equipment that in its predecessor required the $15,000 Inspiration package. (4 c.u. = 1 USD), the new model in this version is cheaper by as much as 25,000 c.u. (4 c.u. = 1 USD), and at the same time has richer security equipment.

The Platinum trim consists of Executive Edition elements and Navi and Tech packages, as well as Driver Attention Alert (DAW), Safe Exit (SEA), Speed Limit Warning (ISLW), Highway Traffic Assist (HDA), Electric 220 V socket, self-levelling rear axle suspension and 19" alloy wheels for the hybrid version or 20" alloy wheels for the 2.2 CRDI version.

From 2021, the new Santa Fe will be available with an optional Luxury Pack for more refined styling. The exterior package includes special 20-inch wheels and bumpers, front and rear, and body-color side panels instead of matte black.
