The new Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer went on sale in Poland.

With the launch of the eVito and eSprinter models in 2019, Mercedes-Benz Vans has made clear its contribution to the development of environmentally friendly commercial freight transport in urban areas.

The eVito Tourer electric car, which is just starting to be sold, represents a new dimension in the performance and range of electric commercial passenger transport: it can be used as a hotel shuttle bus, a large taxi or a public vehicle.

Fast charging - long range - many uses

The new Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer looks like a Vito with an internal combustion engine. Under the floor, however, is an electric powertrain (eATS) that drives the front wheels with a peak output of 150kW. The energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery located low in the center of the chassis, which has a positive effect on the driving performance of the eVito Tourer. Top speed: 160 km/h as standard and 140 km/h as an option ensure smooth driving even in the countryside.

The Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer is equipped with an 11 kW water-cooled AC on-board charger (OBC). This means that it is ready to be charged from the AC mains at home or at public charging stations. Charging is via the CCS connector on the left side of the front bumper.

It also allows direct current (DC) charging. With a maximum charging power of 110 kW at the DC fast charging station, the eVito Tourera can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 45 minutes. The battery with a useful capacity of 90 kWh provides a range of 360 2.3 km.

Thanks to a well-thought-out operating strategy, the Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer also charges while driving. In the coast or brake mode, the mechanical rotary motion is converted into electricity and used to recharge the high-voltage battery (regeneration). The driver has a great influence on this - he can, if necessary, adjust the recuperation force using the petals on the steering wheel.

A particularly efficient and comfortable driving style is ensured by a new function in the eVito Tourer: the D AUTO recuperation level. Following the principle of "Drive with expectation and save energy", the safety assistants then communicate with each other to exchange data, and the level of recuperation is adapted to the traffic situation in real time. The driver can also select from three driving programs at the touch of a button, for maximum comfort or maximum range.

Due to the placement of the battery in the chassis, it does not limit the space inside.

The eVito Tourer thus meets the highest demands in terms of functionality and versatility in many areas of passenger transport. Locally, the emission-free van can be ordered in two lengths: 5,140 millimeters and an extended version that offers a whopping 5,370 millimeters. Taxi companies and those offering ridesharing have a wide range of seating configurations at their disposal.

Two rear seats make the eVito Tourer a comfortable vehicle that meets all the requirements of modern passenger transport, providing agility and an exceptionally quiet ride. The flexible seating configuration means that it can be equipped with up to nine seats, for example, with the possibility of placing them facing each other. Production of the eVito Tourer as a production vehicle will be integrated into the normal production process at the Vitoria plant in northern Spain, where the Mercedes-Benz Vito, V-Class and EQV are also produced. This will ensure flexible and synergistic production in direct relation to customer orders.

As practical as a conventional transmission model at a comparable total cost of ownership (TCO)

Even as standard, the eVito Tourer has many additional features over the conventional powered model, such as 17-inch wheels or a heated driver's seat. Numerous assistance and safety systems are also available, such as Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, High Beam Assist Plus and cruise control. The optional AIRMATIC air suspension is also available for the eVito Tourer for the first time in this segment. The advantages of the system are increased driving comfort, also in terms of acoustics, and lower fuel consumption at high speeds.

The price of the eVito Tourer in Russia starts from 310,990 euros including VAT.

Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 Extra Long: electric and intelligent

Simultaneously with the eVito Tourer, a new battery minivan from Mercedes-Benz EQV went on sale, which can also be ordered in an extended version: 5,370 mm. The EQV is the second model in the Mercedes-Benz EQ family, combining emission-free mobility with convincing driving performance, high functionality and aesthetic design. It is designed for families who care about the environment, sports enthusiasts who need to carry more equipment, or companies using shuttle vehicles. The battery with a useful capacity of 90 kWh provides a range of 353 2.3 km. While maintaining the same performance, the extra-long EQV offers even more space for passengers and luggage with a maximum boot volume of 1410 liters.
