The new Taigo is available in eight body colors. All but Deep Black can be combined with a contrasting black roof (optional). Inside the Taigo, eye-catchers include the multi-function steering wheel and the digitized controls for key functions. MIB3 multimedia systems are equipped with an online management unit (eSIM) and App-Connect Wireless (depending on equipment). The optional Climatronic air conditioning system features a minimalist control panel with a touch function that echoes optically with the central display. It is controlled using touch controls and sliders. It is offered in a similar form on larger models such as the Tiguan, Passat and Arteon, highlighting the high quality of the Taigo's interior.

The new crossover is also very close to the top Volkswagen models in terms of driver assistance systems. Optionally, the new Taigo has Travel Assist on board: the new active cruise control ACC (automatic distance control with additional linkage to speed limits and navigation system data) and Lane Assist connect to other systems and allow semi-automatic driving up to a maximum speed of 210 km/h.

The new multifunction steering wheel features capacitive surfaces that detect whether the driver is holding the steering wheel. Every Taigo is equipped as standard with assistance systems such as Front Assist with City Emergency Braking and Lane Assist. Few models in this class offer such a wide range of assistance systems that would provide such a high level of comfort and safety.

Roomy trunk

In addition to striking design and high-tech solutions, Taigo is highly functional: an impressive 438 liters of luggage space. This means that, despite its coupe-like silhouette, the Taigo offers almost as much luggage space as the compact T-Cross with a sliding rear seat (trunk volume varies from 385 to 455 liters).

Volkswagen has changed the range of equipment options in all models, making them simpler and more understandable. Equipment items chosen by most customers, such as LED headlights and a digital instrument cluster, are standard on the Taigo. From the point of view of the buyer, the choice of equipment will now become clearer. The base Life version will open for the new crossover, followed by the Style and R-Line versions. All equipment versions can be retrofitted with attractive packages or individual accessories.

Drive Volkswagen Taigo

Taigo's front-wheel drive engines are equipped with 70 kW (95 hp), 81 kW (110 hp) and 110 kW (150 hp) petrol engines. Top speed is 183 km/h, 191 km/h and 212 km/h respectively. Depending on the engine, gears can be shifted manually using a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DSG).

The full Taigo lineup will be introduced in Russia in the first quarter of 2022.
