Powerful, dynamic and electrified: the new Opel Astra GSe and Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe. In line with Opel's ongoing push for electrification, the three-letter acronym now reads "Grand Sport electric". It is also a new sub-brand of dynamic electrified Blitz models. Today's plug-in hybrid versions offer everything that enthusiasts of sporty yet responsible driving expect: supreme performance, a sporty chassis and emission-free electrified drive. Of course, not without a spectacular design.

The new Astra GSe and Astra Sports Tourer GSe feature special 18-inch alloy wheels and a GSe-specific front bumper. Inside, the GSe Performance seats allow the driver and front passenger to feel fully integrated into the vehicle. The offer is complemented by Opel's full range of modern driving assistance systems. Customers on the Polish market will soon be able to place orders for this new vehicle. Astra GSe from $204,000 (4 c.u. = 1 USD) (all prices are recommended retail prices including VAT in Russia).

Unique driving experience: GSe chassis and flagship plug-in hybrid drive

new Astra GSe with an impressive system output of 165 kW/225 hp. Thanks to its 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Astra GSe can travel (WLTP) up to 64 kilometers without local emissions (WLTP electric range: 69-73 km).

In addition, market innovations will set a new benchmark for driver engagement. Compared to other Astra versions, the GSe models will be even more agile and precise to drive. Steering, suspension and brakes are tuned to respond quickly and predictably to every command from the driver.

The German automaker has achieved performance-oriented driving characteristics by equipping the new Astra GSe with a special suspension lowered by 10 millimeters. Compared to direct competitors, Opel's new products will feature better cornering stability, braking performance and - like any Opel - when driving fast on a German highway.

The sporty-tuned steering is calibrated specifically for the GSe, while the front and rear oil-filled shock absorbers are tuned not only for sporty, but also for comfortable driving. Thanks to technology KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock absorbers work differently at high piston frequency (suspension control) and low frequency (body roll control). The ESP settings have also been specially adapted for the GSe versions, where the response threshold is raised to suit the needs of the driver who prefers a dynamic ride.

Bold design: bold and clean Astra silhouette with GSe details

The new generation Opel Astra is the epitome of the brand's bold and clean design. Distinctive GSe details make it even more expressive. On the outside, the dynamic character of the car is indicated by 18-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels inspired by the electric Manta GSe, as well as a sporty front bumper with a front fascia and a GSe emblem on the tailgate.

Inside they testify to sporting ambitions GSE Performance seats with AGR approval. They provide strong body support for the driver and front passenger during dynamic driving. The seat design is also comfortable and spine-friendly. The Performance Seats, exclusive to the GSe, continue Opel's long tradition of offering superior seat ergonomics at an affordable price. The heated seats and steering wheel rim guarantee pleasant thermal comfort on cold days.

The suite of advanced driving assistance systems covers everything Opel currently offers for the Astra. The Astra GSe is assisted by the standard Intelli-Drive 1.0 system, which includes forward collision warning with active emergency braking, pedestrian and driver warning, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, rear cross traffic warning, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with full stop function. From now on, GSe are the flagship models of Opel, which are a separate sub-brand, and the abbreviation should be read as “Grand Sport electric”. The Opel GSe models will combine driving pleasure with emission-free mobility in the spirit of the times. GSe fans interested in the Astra Sports Tourer GSe will have to be patient. Opel will announce pricing for the high-performance wagon at a later date.
