Following the positive feedback of the one-off in the summer of 2022, MINI is taking another big step towards electromobility with the launch of a small series of all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible (combined energy consumption: 17.2 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions). emissions: 0 g/km). From April 2023, the MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be available in Europe in a limited edition of 999 units.

The MINI Cooper SE convertible will be available in Enigmatic Black and White Silver. Door handles, side windows, front and rear light surrounds are finished in Resolute Bronze. The MINI logo and model designation are finished in elegant Piano Black. The MINI Cooper SE E logo is located on the front apron and on the rear, further emphasizing emission-free driving pleasure. Other equipment details specific to this version also decorate the door sills and side trims, which, together with the 1/999 lettering, emphasize the exclusive character of the limited edition MINI Convertible.

With this edition, MINI offers alloy wheels. 17" Electric Power Spoke cast alloy wheels with two-tone finish are made from 100% recycled aluminium. The use of green electricity in production and the use of recycled materials can significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional production processes.

Extensive interior with MINI Electric design elements

Heated sport seats with MINI Yours Lounge leather upholstery and adjustable thigh support. The multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather adds to driving pleasure, provides stylish driving comfort and can also be heated. The MINI Electric badge on the lower steering wheel spoke reflects the limited nature of this electric convertible. The exclusive character of the interior is also due to the noble Piano Black surfaces, which can be stylishly illuminated by ambient lighting. The all-electric character of the four-seat convertible is underscored by yellow accents such as the start/stop button.

In addition to many other features, the high-quality equipment in the cab is complemented by the eDrive functions familiar from the MINI Cooper SE. Thanks to them, the driver receives information about the current energy consumption, range and advice on economical driving style. While driving, all relevant information is displayed on the MINI head-up display. On long journeys, the driving comfort of the limited electric MINI Convertible is ensured, among other things, by Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go and the MINI Driver Assistance System as standard.

Puristic driving on an electric kart

Overall dimensions: length 3863 mm, wheelbase 2495 mm, width 1727 mm and length 2495 mm, including 160-litre boot, remain the same as the MINI Convertible with conventional drive. The 135 kW (184 hp) electric motor was developed at the BMW Group electric vehicle competence centers in Dingolfing and Landshut. The small engine dimensions ensure very good weight distribution between the axles and contribute to dynamic driving and easy handling. The electric drive smoothly accelerates the MINI Cooper SE Convertible from zero to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

With a range of 201 km in the WLTP test cycle, you can travel far beyond the city limits. The fully electric and therefore particularly quiet MINI Yours fabric roof with the typical Union Jack motif can be opened, closed and used as a sliding roof, even at speeds of up to 30 km/h.

From idea to small series

The MINI Cooper SE Convertible is proof of the versatility of MINI, which is launching a small series for the first time. The MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be produced in a limited edition of 999 units in the Netherlands alongside the regular MINI Convertible.
