Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition
Porsche presents the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, a modern 911 with design elements from the 1950s and early 1960s, and at the same time the first of four collectors under the Heritage Design strategy. The special limited edition Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur reinterprets historical design motifs on the outside and inside of the car, combining them with the latest technology. The new model can be ordered now, and its appearance in showrooms is scheduled for autumn 2020.
Paying tribute to tradition: 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition
According to the internal designation of the model range, only 992 units will be produced. On the Polish market, the model will cost from 903 thousand. c.u. (4 c.u. = 1 USD). With the launch of the Special Edition, some interior trim features will be available on all current versions of the 911 as part of the Heritage Design package. In addition, Porsche Design has developed a high-quality watch, which will also be produced in a limited edition and will only be available to customers of the new limited edition.
“With Heritage Design, we bring back memories of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s for our customers and fans alike. No brand can translate these elements into modern language the way Porsche does. Thus, we fulfill the wishes of our customers. We are also introducing a new product line that, together with these exclusive special editions, represents the lifestyle of our strategy,” said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Management Board of Porsche AG.
An exclusive paint finish in Cherry Metallic or four other available shades, combined with gold emblems, creates an authentic 1950s look. The spear-inspired racing graphics on the front fenders are particularly distinctive and recall Porsche's roots in the world of motorsport. Another visual highlight is the Porsche Heritage emblem on the rear bonnet, reminiscent of the badge created to commemorate the Porsche 356's 100,000 km run. This vintage seal of excellence, with a modern twist, will grace the rear of all four Porsche Heritage Design models. The connection between past and present is also highlighted by the 1963 Porsche Crest on the hood, steering wheel, hub caps and car keys. The same historical coat of arms is engraved on the headrests of the chairs and on the key case. In addition, the standard 20- and 21-inch Carrera Exclusive Design wheels and classic-design black-painted brake calipers underline the vehicle's special character.
The interior design also pays homage to the past, including a two-tone leather interior that combines Bordeaux Red leather with Beige Atacama Olea Club leather (alternatively black leather with Beige Atacama Club leather). The upholstery of the seats and door panels is made of velvet, a material already used in the Porsche 356. Its return revives the spirit of the era and the fashion of the 1950s. microfiber and extensive Exclusive Manufaktur leather trim. A metal badge on the dashboard trim panel carries an individual limited edition number.
The first Heritage Design model is based on the new generation 911 Targa (992), which debuted just a few days ago, and is equipped with the latest chassis, assistance systems and infotainment technology. It is equipped with an advanced 331 kW (450 hp) bi-turbo boxer engine which, in combination with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission, accelerates the Porsche 911 Targa from 0 to 100 km/h (with Launch Control) in less than for 3.6 s. seconds and allows you to reach a maximum speed of 304 km / h.
Porsche Heritage Design strategy: reinterpreting classic design elements
Heritage Design models emphasize lifestyle and embody the particularly emotional concepts of the Porsche product strategy. The Style Porsche design department and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur reimagines the style of iconic 911s and their interiors from the 1950s to the 1980s and revives the character of those times. The proclamation of this strategy is the Heritage Design package for the 2019 911 Speedster. In total, Porsche will prepare four special limited edition models in this series.
911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition Chronograph to match the car
Especially for the owners of the new model, Porsche Design has created a high-quality watch - the chronograph 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. This mechanical watch has an elegant, laconic design and, like the car, is produced in a limited edition of 992 pieces. It is much more than just a car: the watch designers were inspired by many details of the legendary Porsche 356 and the legendary Porsche 911 Targa. For example, the design of the dial, with its white minute hand and Phosphorus Green rings, was inspired by the indicators of the models mentioned, while the numbers are printed in signature Porsche font. The strap of the new watch is made from genuine Porsche leather for the interior, and another tribute to the iconic sports car is the 911 lettering embossed on it.
