Yaris Cross - 100% urban, 100% SUV

Yaris Cross is built on the GA-B platform of the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) series, which it shares with the new Yaris hatchback. However, it has a higher driving position and increased ground clearance. The new model will expand Toyota's SUV line-up by joining the RAV4, the segment's progenitor and best-selling vehicle, and the Toyota C-HR compact crossover. The TNGA platform provides high body rigidity, a low center of gravity, as well as high-quality suspension, which makes the car agile and confident, guaranteeing excellent driving comfort.

The fourth generation hybrid drive is available on all versions of the Yaris Cross. It is based on a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine with 116 hp, working on the Atkinson cycle. This drive made its debut in the new Yaris hatchback. Its exceptional efficiency means that the manufacturer expects CO2 emissions in the front-wheel drive Yaris Cross to be around 100 g/km, and in the AWD-i version, less than 110 g/km.

In the Comfort version with the Style Pack, the Yaris Cross comes standard with LED front and rear lights, including sequential rear indicators, which give the car a distinctive character. Depending on the chosen body color, the Yarisa Cross badge is applied to the side moldings in silver or warm gold.

Intelligent Drive AWD-i

The Yaris Cross is the only subcompact hybrid SUV with AWD-i intelligent all-wheel drive. The system automatically switches from front-wheel drive to all-wheel drive depending on road conditions, providing a higher level of passenger safety. In addition, the AWD-i intelligent drive comes standard with two additional modes, Trail and Snow, which the driver can activate independently to improve driving stability in difficult conditions.

Electric Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD-i) is compact and lightweight, so it doesn't compromise best-in-class fuel economy, but provides better traction when driving on slippery or dirt roads.

Toyota Smart Connect

The Yaris Cross offers customers a stable wireless connection to their smartphone through Toyota Smart Connect, the first key Toyota model to offer this kind of multi-device support. The centerpiece of the system is a high-resolution 9-inch touch screen. Easy-to-use navigation uses cloud-based map updates, traffic and incident information, and a destination search engine. With the MyT app, Yaris Cross owners can send route and air conditioning settings from their phone to the navigation system before they even get in the car. The system also allows you to remotely open and close the car. Toyota Smart Connect will be available in the Comfort version with the Tech Pack.

Toyota Smart Cargo

The priority for the Yaris Cross designers was to create a practical and versatile vehicle. The car is equipped with a power tailgate with foot motion sensor, and an adjustable boot floor, providing secure storage space or even more luggage space. The spacious luggage compartment can be enlarged by folding down the rear seatbacks, which are split in a 40:20:40 split, allowing each seat to be folded separately. Thanks to this, there is no problem transporting skis, bicycles or a few suitcases for a week-long vacation. Luggage can be secured securely on the provided hooks.

The Toyota Yaris Cross is designed for European customers and is manufactured in Valenciennes, France. The car will be available for pre-sales in the second quarter of 2021, with official sales starting in September 2021.
