Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles introduces a new family member: ID. Buzz with a long wheelbase. The model with the "Made in Germany" emblem was created for the markets of Europe, Canada and the USA. Thus, the Volkswagen minibus begins its return to the North American markets.

With a length of 4962 mm and a maximum of seven places, a large ID. Buzz is perfect for a North American launch. It also gives more options to European customers. The extra length resulting from a 250mm longer wheelbase provides room for a third row of seats, up to 2,469 liters of luggage space and room for a new 85kWh (usable capacity) battery for even more range. The new heat pump improves the car's efficiency in winter.

Large ID. The Buzz will also be available with a new 210 kW (286 hp) electric motor. This electric motor increases the top speed to an electronically limited 160 km/h (European ID Buzz 150 kW: 145 km/h). Large ID. Buzz accelerates to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.

But that is not all: a 250 kW (340 hp) all-wheel drive (GTX) version announced for 2024.. IDENTIFIER. The Buzz GTX will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, making it ideal for quickly blending into the traffic.

Other new features of Volkswagen's large electric van include a head-up display, an upgraded next-generation infotainment system, and smartphone-assisted remote parking. The new high-tech panoramic roof with smart glass evokes the legendary VW Samba minibus of the 1950s and has an area of 1.5 square meters and is the largest glass roof in the history of Volkswagen. Smart glass can be changed from transparent to opaque and vice versa using a touch slider or voice assistant. North American versions will also feature air-conditioned seats with an illuminated Volkswagen logo on the front.

First deliveries of ID. The hype in America will begin in 2024
