The new Volkswagen Passat Variant 2024 is almost ready
The premiere of the new Passat Variant will take place at the end of August., but today Volkswagen is revealing some details about the latest generation of this car. The new model will feature an intuitive infotainment system, a new adaptive suspension, ergonomic seats and high-quality interior materials. The plug-in hybrid version will have a range of up to 100 km.

The new Passat Variant will be launched in the first quarter of 2024. This will be the ninth generation of this top-selling mid-size model. Over 30 million Passat cars have been sold in 50 years.
When developing the new Passat Variant, Volkswagen aimed to maximize the potential of the MQB evo platform.

Updated interior
Thanks to high-quality materials and effective soundproofing, ride comfort has been taken to a new level. As an option, ergoActive seats with electric adjustment (up to 14 directions, depending on the model and equipment), as well as massage and ventilation functions will be available.
New display and operating concept
The interior of the Passat Variant has changed in line with the expectations of users. Operation of the new infotainment system is as intuitive as possible. It comes standard with a 12.9-inch diagonal, and optionally (and in higher trim levels) there will be a 15-inch screen. Below the display are illuminated touch sliders that are used to control the air conditioner and adjust the volume of the audio system. As an option, a new head-up display will be available, which projects information onto the windshield so that it seems that it is in the space ahead of the car. In addition, the multifunction steering wheel has been redesigned with classic buttons to make it even easier to operate.
New DCC Pro Adaptive Suspension
Numerous changes have been made to improve the driving performance of the new Passat, including new electromechanical steering, modified anti-roll bars and dampers, and the suspension has been tuned to different wheel sizes. The more direct steering ratio and the longer wheelbase of the Passat Variant also have a positive effect on the car's handling.
Volkswagen will introduce the optional DCC Pro suspension with two-valve shock absorbers in the new Passat. The system constantly reacts to uneven road surfaces and traffic situations, taking into account the steering angle, braking and acceleration. The ideal damping is calculated individually for each wheel and adjusted on the shock absorbers in a fraction of a second. The driver can customize the DCC to suit their preferences, from very comfortable to very sporty.
The new Passat will also feature the Vehicle Dynamics Management system that debuted in the current Golf GTI. The system controls the Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) and DCC Pro suspension functions. This makes handling more neutral, stable and precise thanks to the intervention of the brakes for each wheel separately and the selective adjustment of the damping force.
Efficient road lighting
In some variants of the Passat Variant will be offered with a new generation of matrix LED headlights. They are smaller than in the current Passat, but still have an impressive range of up to 500m. At the rear, the new model will also have LED lights, with a strip connecting the lights on both sides of the body.
TDI, TSI, eTSI and eHybrid
Thanks to the MQB evo platform, the new Passat Variant can be equipped with various drive types. Thus, there will be options with turbodiesel (TDI), turbopetrol (TSI), turbopetrol hybrid (eTSI) and plug-in hybrid (eHybrid). The power reserve of the latest version on electricity only has been increased to 100 kilometers (depending on configuration). In addition, AC charging will be faster on all versions of the eHybrid, and DC charging will be possible for the first time.
