New Renault Arkana 2023/24 in the style of the new wave of Renault

The European version of the model, presented in October 2020, is a perfect illustration of the success of the Renaulution strategy. With 163,000 units sold (240,000 if Renault Korea Motors XM3 sales are included), this distinctive coupe-style SUV plays a key role in the brand's C-segment takeover, alongside the electric Mégane E-Tech and Australa.

Today, the brand presents the new Renault Arkana, which not only pleases the eye with its original design, combining smooth lines, attractive appearance and robust construction, but also represents a new design of the brand, corresponding to the “New Wave” of Renault. The grille features the Renault "Nouvel'R" logo on a glossy black panel connecting the headlights. Overall, an extremely elegant smooth surface is created.

The shape of the "Nouvel'R" logo was the inspiration for the new grille design, an eye-catching deconstruction of the repeating diamond that echoes the brand's central branding. The side lines of each diamond were exposed using a 3D effect that gives them depth and plasticity. Depending on the version (evolution, techno, esprit Alpine), the lines can be black, satin or graphite chrome, making it easier to distinguish the versions. In addition, the vertical grille pattern gives a stylish look and the lower part is integrated into the bumper.

The F1 handlebar, formerly part of the RS Line and E-Tech Engineered trims, is now offered at the top of Alpine's techno and esprit range. In the techno version, it has body color, and in the Alpine esprit version, it has satin gray.

At the rear, the logo in the center of the tailgate is the same as the front in black chrome, the same model name letters and tailpipe tip. The lampshades have a slightly smoky color and a crystalline structure that emphasizes their modernity. Chrome disappears from the entire range. We will not see it on any decorative elements on the lattice, window frames, etc. Depending on the version, there are different types of black - classic, satin or glossy black lacquer.

New version of Esprit Alpine

The new Arkana, like other new models in the Renault range, is also available in an Alpine esprit version with a sporty-elegant style that suits this car perfectly.

In addition to the matte gray molding in the front bumper, the esprit Alpine version is distinguished by a special gray-green emblem in a glossy black frame, which is located on the wheel arch trim. New openwork 19-inch wheels give the New Arkana a more upmarket and sporty look. The aerodynamics of the tailgate is further improved by a new spoiler, whose double cutout is reminiscent of the roof topography.

In the interior, on the seats, we will see ECO TEP leather (10% composition from natural raw materials) and ecological Alcantara. In the current design, Alcantara is the dominant material, and there is more of it than previous RS Line and E-Tech Engineered versions. The seats are eye-catching with horizontal blue stitching. The Alpine logo appears on the seat backs. The seat belts are also adorned with two blue stripes.

The door panels and steering wheel are adorned with blue, white and red stitching. A new decorative element appears on the dashboard, which impresses with its minimalist elegance. Regardless of the engine chosen, the Alpine New Arkana esprit version will feature an electronically shifted gear lever that is devoid of mechanical links and mechanical connection to the gearbox.

Simple assortment structure with a richer offer

The New Arkana range consists of three versions: evolution, techno and alpine spirit.

Already in an evolutionary version Arkana comes standard with navigation built into the Renault EASY LINK multimedia system. The multimedia system has the function of wireless connection to smartphones with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The digital screen on the instrument panel has a diagonal of 7 inches, but much more usable area than before.

techno version It is distinguished not only by the F1 molding in body color, but also by the wheels that were previously installed on the RS Line and E-Tech Engineered versions. The logo and model name on the tailgate are finished in satin chrome.

A new paint color, Nocturne Blue, has also been added to the range. The offer of engines includes previously offered units: Full hybrid E-Tech 145 hp and Mild hybrid engines with 140 and 160 hp.

Fully hybrid E-Tech engine with 145 hp with "E-Save" mode

E-Tech full hybrid drive with 145 hp delivers unrivaled driving pleasure for the new Arkana. It has the smoothness, dynamism and efficiency typical of an electric vehicle. The drive combines two electric motors (a 36 kW electric motor and a 18 kW high voltage starter-generator) with a 69 kW (94 hp) 4-cylinder 1.6 liter petrol engine with an intelligent multi-mode cam transmission and a traction battery.

The gearbox has 4 gears for running the petrol engine and 2 gears for running the main electric motor. Thus, the E-Tech full hybrid drive offers up to 14 combinations of interaction between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor, which allows you to optimize the energy efficiency of the unit.

Start is always in electric mode. The new Arkana can travel around town in all-electric mode for 80% driving times, and city fuel consumption can be up to 40% lower than the classic ICE version. Thanks to the high energy efficiency of the powertrain, CO2 emissions start at just 105 g/km, which is an excellent result for this class. And all this happens in the silence of an electric car and without the limitations of recharging the battery.

The new Arkana's 145-horsepower E-Tech full-hybrid transmission is equipped with an "e-save" function. It is accessible from the center screen in the vehicle settings or driving mode settings for versions equipped with the MULTI-SENSE system and supports a minimum of 40% battery charge. This reserve of energy allows, if necessary, to move in electric mode or to support the internal combustion engine, for example, on steep slopes in the mountains.

The new Arkana is built on the CMF-B modular platform developed by the Renault-Nissan alliance. This platform is especially appreciated for energy efficiency and driving pleasure. At the same time, it provides the driver with the good handling of the new Arcana on the road and the highest level of driving comfort.

Following the path of the New Arcana gives you a sense of confidence. This is further enhanced by the precise work of the rear suspension, which provides excellent stability when cornering at high speed. Rental is limited even on the roughest roads. Suspension efficiency is also enhanced by precise steering with a more direct ratio. The vehicle is also extremely agile thanks to a turning radius of just 11.2 m.
