Shortly after the premiere of the new generation TUCSON, Hyundai introduced the sporty N Line version of its best-selling model in Europe. The TUCSON N Line combines the dynamic design, comfort and advanced connectivity of TUCSON with the motorsport-inspired style and character of the N Line.

“With the introduction of the new generation Hyundai TUCSON N Line, we are bringing popular sports equipment to the latest generation of our European bestseller. The new generation of TUCSON N Line features exclusive styling and a wide range of electrified powertrains to give Hyundai customers even more choice.” said Andreas-Christoph Hoffman, vice president of marketing and products, Hyundai Motor Europe.

Dynamic exterior design inspired by motorsports

Like the standard model, the TUCSON N Line features a progressive design that combines clear lines, angles and shapes, as well as the new TUCSON parametric concealed lighting.

The muscular posture of the new TUCSON N Line builds on Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy while offering a sophisticated, sporty look. The N Line trim has clear parametric patterns for a strong and energetic character. The low and wide silhouette emphasizes the model's sporty character.

From the front, parametric elements are clearly visible on the radiator grille, which is taller and wider than the base model. The N Line version has improved parametric patterns that create additional reflections on the grating elements depending on the angle of light incidence. The N Line emblem was also added. Beneath the grille is a trapezoidal bumper and a complex air intake that is larger than the standard TUCSON. The rear bumper is harmoniously combined with bright silver lining. On the other hand, the headlights have an attractive black bezel.

The side moldings of the new generation TUCSON N Line are body-coloured, creating dynamic proportions and making it slimmer. Everything is complemented by a decorative strip above the windows in high-gloss black. Stylish Phantom Black side mirrors further emphasize the elegant look.

The new generation of TUCSON N Line is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels with a sportier parametric design. They are complemented by wheel arches in the color of the car body. Buyers can choose from seven body colors. For even more personalization, the roof is available in Phantom Black, which is optionally available with five body colors.

Exterior colors:

  • Shadow Gray as an option with Phantom Black roof [dostępny wyłącznie dla N Line]

  • Engine Red optional with Phantom Black roof
  • Sunset Red as an option with Phantom Black roof

Spacious interior with sporty accents

The all-new refined and spacious TUCSON N Line interior features flowing shapes inspired by waterfalls. This is emphasized by the sporty interior design of the N Line and the exclusive color package. The new generation of TUCSON N Line customers are offered sports seats with the N logo, finished in black suede and leather with red stitching. Red stitching is also sewn into the door upholstery, and gray fabric is decorated with red inserts. The steering wheel is adorned with the N logo. N badges can also be found on the leather shift knob or on the shift console cover, depending on the transmission selected. The black roof lining gives the interior an even sportier character. Other elements that distinguish the N Line version are the metal pedals, footrest and other door sills.

Changed control for some engines

The new generation TUCSON N range has been developed and tested in Europe. Like the next generation TUCSON, it is available with Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) which, thanks to adaptive damping technology, provides additional agility on the road. Thanks to ECS, Hyundai engineers have achieved a very versatile driving behavior, adapting to the driving situation and preferences.

ECS automatically and constantly monitors the vehicle's suspension to ensure the best performance and driving comfort. This is achieved by taking into account driving conditions such as speed, road surface, curves, braking and acceleration requirements. By controlling the damping force at each wheel, ECS reduces pitch, pitch and vertical movement for improved ride and handling. Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) engineers have created a separate optimized ECS setting for the N Line 48V hybrid version. This makes driving even more fun.

Hyundai engineers have optimized the ECS for the N Line variants to improve vibration damping and agility. In TUCSON N Line, the ECS logic responds faster and more strongly to both body movements and driver commands. In normal mode, engineers have maintained good driving comfort in city traffic. On the other hand, the sport mode has been improved to provide better control and feedback across the entire speed range.

Thanks to changes in the ECS settings, the steering on these variants also works differently. It is more centered, while at the same time the rider feels better connection to the wheels and slightly more resistance on the handlebars.

Drives, security and connectivity

As with the standard version, the new TUCSON N range is available with different powertrains, both in terms of power and efficiency, and is also available with different levels of electrification. All powertrains are based on the 1.6 T-GDI Smartstream petrol engine for maximum efficiency.

Drive systems:

  • 1.6 T-GDI Plug-in Hybrid (265 hp)
  • 1.6 T-GDI Hybrid (230 hp)
  • 1.6 T-GDI 7DCT 48V (180 HP)
  • 1.6 T-GDI 7DCT 48V (150 HP)
  • 1.6 T-GDI 6MT (150 hp)

As with the new generation TUCSON, a range of technology features provide intuitive operation, including a fully customizable digital cockpit consisting of a new 10.25" digital clock display and a 10.25" touchscreen multimedia system with factory navigation and Bluelink® connectivity.

The new generation TUCSON N range also offers Multi-Air technology. It includes a combination of direct and indirect airflow for air conditioning and heating to create a more pleasant indoor environment with softer airflow. Three-zone air conditioning supports passengers in the front and rear seats. In addition, ventilated front seats and heated front and rear seats provide additional comfort for both driver and passengers.

In addition, the new generation of TUCSON N Line is equipped with an excellent driver assistance package and an active safety package. Blind Spot Display (BVM) improves visibility by showing the SLR view in the instrument cluster when the turn signal is on. And the Highway Driving Assistant (HDA) keeps the car in the center of the lane by adjusting the speed based on navigation data and traffic conditions, such as when turning on motorways. In addition, Remote Parking Assistance (RSPA), available on hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, allows the vehicle to be self-parked, relieving the driver in difficult parking situations. A number of other safety systems help improve visibility by protecting front and rear passengers and preventing collisions.

The next generation TUCSON N Line will be available in Europe from spring 2021, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants available from summer 2021.
