Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition and Coastal Limited Edition
Ford has just unveiled new special editions of the 2022 Ford Mustang, the Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition, as well as the Mustang Coastal Limited Edition. By the way, a unique color, Code Orange, has joined the Mustang family.
2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition
Carroll Shelby, a well-known American race car driver and entrepreneur known for turning Ford Mustangs into amazing race cars, made history in 1967 when he created the first generation Shelby GT500 with a modified 7-liter V8 engine.
The author then called the original Shelby GT500 "the first real car that I'm really proud of." And yes, this Shelby GT500 is as iconic today - as the most powerful and technologically advanced Mustang ever - just as it was when it was launched almost 55 years ago.
So, paying homage to the original 1967 Shelby GT500, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition fastback will be painted in classic and exclusive Brittany Blue with two different Wimbledon White striping options:
- Hand-painted racing stripes with GT500 logo (also available in Absolute Black)
- Adhesive racing stripes with a unique side stripe featuring the GT500 logo.
Designed and engineered by Ford Performance to be Ford's most powerful legal car, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 uses world-class solutions to match supercar performance. This includes a first-in-class 7-speed dual-clutch transmission familiar from racing cars and advanced driving modes.
Orders for the 2022 Shelby GT500, including the new Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition, began building in mid-November, with the cars going on sale in spring 2022. The base US suggested retail price for the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 is $72,900 (not including surcharges). The Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition package is available for an additional $2,140, while the hand-striped GT500 Heritage Edition package is available for an additional $12,140.
Limited Edition 2022 Mustang Coastal
Mustang is expanding its lineup of special editions for the 2022 model year with an all-new limited edition Coastal available for Mustangs with a 310hp EcoBoost Premium engine. in fastback and convertible versions.
The new Special Edition embodies the freedom that has always been associated with the iconic Mustang badge. At the same time, it is aimed at people who want to ride in even more style while cruising the coast.
The Coastal Pack includes dark matte 19-inch alloy wheels, unique adhesive strips across the hood, distinctive rear spoiler shape, black grille, illuminated door sills with Mustang badging and Coastal script. The Coastal Limited Edition is only available in Brittany Blue, Cyber Orange and Rapid Red.
Orders for this version are now available at US Ford dealerships starting at $32,225 (excluding surcharges). The Coastal Limited Edition package is available for an additional $1,995 and the cars will hit the market in spring 2022.
The exclusive Code Orange color is only available for the Shelby GT500.
The 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 is available in exclusive Ford Performance Orange. This is a unique livery that only the brand new Ford F-150 Raptor, the first-ever Bronco Raptor and the Ford GT supercar that won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race were awarded.
Code Orange joins eight new 2022 Mustang colors: Atlas Blue Metallic, Brittany Blue Metallic (only available on GT500 Heritage and Coastal Limited Edition), Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Eruption Green Metallic, Grabber Blue Metallic and playful purple metallic.
