New Renault Clio with hybrid drive
The new Clio, unveiled in 2019, reflects the Renault Group's vision for the mobility of the future with autonomous, electric and intelligent vehicles. It is equipped with the most advanced driver assistance systems currently available on the market – incl. EASY PILOT is an assistant for driving in traffic jams and on the freeway. This is a level 2 autonomous driving system. The new model with a 9.3-inch screen and the new Renault EASY CONNECT system also offers a wide range of multimedia features.
For the first time in the Clio range, the E-TECH engine with “full hybrid” technology will complement the range of internal combustion engines and will be a prime example of the synergy that lies at the heart of the strategy of the Renault Group, a pioneer and European leader in electric vehicles and its partners. The new unit instantly responds to the driver's commands when starting off and accelerating, and also allows you to drive more often on electric traction. This results in an incredible driving experience and enjoyment unmatched by other urban hybrids available on the market.
Energy efficiency and driving pleasure
Powered by the new 140 hp Clio E-TECH, the hybrid powertrain delivers maximum efficiency, unsurpassed driving dynamics and responsiveness, best demonstrated by 80 to 120 km/h acceleration in just 6.9 seconds.
Brake energy recovery, the high self-charging capacity of the 1.2 kWh (230 V) battery and the high efficiency of the E-TECH drive reduce fuel and energy consumption. The new model can travel around town in all-electric mode with 80% driving times, and fuel consumption can be up to 40% lower than the ICE version in the city. And this without the need to change user habits. In electric mode, the new Clio can reach speeds of 70-75 km/h.
All hybrid drive components weigh just 10 kg more than the dCi 115 engine. Clio E-TECH combined fuel consumption is less than 4.5 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are less than 100 g/km (according to WLTP protocol, pending final approval) ). The traction battery does not reduce the volume of the luggage compartment (391 l), and the rear seat can still be folded down. There is also room for a spare wheel. The new transmission combines comfort and performance. All this fits perfectly into the character of the model, which for 30 years has been one of the most versatile machines.
New Captur - electric on request
The model, which is the best seller in its segment in France and Europe, is also one of the brand's most recognizable vehicles. The Captur is sold on every continent and in key markets, including China, where it is currently produced for the local market. The new Captur has everything to be a bestseller with the latest technology. Equipped with an E-TECH Plug-in hybrid powertrain, the new model reflects the three pillars of Renault Group's automotive vision for the future of autonomous, intelligent and electric vehicles.
This hugely popular and iconic model has been developed using the brand's knowledge and experience in the field of electric vehicles. With Renault's new range of plug-in hybrids, the ultimate driving experience is now available to a much wider range of users.
Extremely versatile
Thanks to the plug-in 160 hp E-TECH engine. and a larger capacity traction battery (9.8 kWh and 400 volts at a relatively light weight of 105 kg), the new Captur can drive the 100% electrically powered 50 kilometers at a top speed of 135 km/h. km/h combined (WLTP) and 65 kilometers in the city (WLTP City). The new Captur is extremely versatile: you can drive it for a week on everyday routes without refueling, and then go on weekends or longer holidays without worrying about battery levels. Thus, it provides a wide range of possibilities without compromise.
For maximum range in electric mode, the car must be regularly connected to a charger (3 to 5 hours depending on the type of outlet, with the possibility of charging from a household outlet). Under various driving conditions, the new E-TECH plug-in operates as a standard E-TECH full hybrid and provides the driver with all the associated benefits such as electric engine start and lower fuel consumption.
With the new Captur E-TECH Plug-in model, a new MULTI-SENSE Pure system mode is available: available in the settings on the screen or by pressing a dedicated button. It allows the 100% to go into electric mode, provided there is enough power in the battery.
In the SPORT mode of the MULTI-SENSE system, if the battery is sufficiently charged, with the accelerator pedal fully depressed, the three engines can work together thanks to the series-parallel drive scheme. In such a situation, the car uses the full potential of the power unit, which is especially important when overtaking.
Another mode of the MULTI-SENSE system called "E-Save" limits the operation of the electric motor and uses the internal combustion engine to maintain the battery's energy reserve (minimum 40% charge). As a result, the driver can switch to the electric drive at any time, for example, when entering the city center. The function will be available at the second stage of the car launch.
On a combined cycle, the new Captur E-TECH Plug-In consumes 1.5 l/100 km and emits 32 g CO2/km (according to the WLTP protocol).
And here is the new Megane with hybrid drive and E-TECH Plug-in technology.
Since the launch of the first Megane in 1995, the Renault brand has sold 7 million units worldwide across four generations of the model. Actually, it is difficult to talk about one model - Megane offers a full range of body types. The new Mégane, which will debut this summer, will feature a hybrid drive with E-TECH Plug-in technology. It offers maximum versatility and the electric drive offers users a whole new driving experience. At the same time, it reduces CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption even on long journeys.
Plug-in hybrid drive in a key market segment
Renault is an expert in electric vehicles. The brand now introduces an E-TECH Plug-in rechargeable hybrid drive with a total output of 160 hp in the new Megane. The new system uses a unique energy regeneration technology to give users a whole new driving experience.
The offer is located in a key market segment and meets the expectations of customers. It will be available from the average level of equipment. The E-TECH Plug-in powertrain will be available for the new Mégane Grandtour at market launch and also for the hatchback at a later date.
Versatile and economical
With a 9.8 kWh (400 V) traction battery and a weight of just 105 kg, the new Mégane E-TECH Plug-in has a 100 % electric range of up to 135 km/h on routes up to 50 km combined (WLTP) and up to 65 km in the city (WLTP City).
On combined cycle, the new Megane E-TECH Plug-in consumes 1.3 l/100 km and emits less than 30 g CO₂/km (values in line with WLTP at the time of approval).
This is the best proof of the versatility of the new Megane E-TECH plug-in. The new model allows you to make daily trips without fuel consumption and is ideal for long trips on weekends or holidays. The new Megane E-TECH plug-in offers the most important benefits of the E-TECH hybrid drive, regardless of battery charge level: always starting in electric mode and significantly reduced fuel consumption.
Personalization of settings
The new Megane E-TECH plug-in features the new Renault EASY LINK multimedia system screen with a screen diagonal of 9.3 inches and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display on the dashboard. It is also possible to change the settings in the MULTI-SENSE system, which is adapted to the specifics of the electric drive and has three driving modes:
- Clean: available in the settings on the screen or by pressing a special button. It allows the 100% to go into electric mode, provided there is enough power in the battery.
- mysense: optimizes driving in hybrid mode to reduce operating costs. The "E-Save" function available in this mode allows you to reserve a certain amount of energy (minimum 40 % battery capacity) so that the driver can switch the drive to 100 % electric mode at any time, for example, after entering the city center.
- Sport: allows the 100% to use the capabilities of the vehicle by combining the power of all three engines.
The new Megane E-TECH Plug-in does not lose the opportunity to re-plan the cabin with a convertible sofa and a flat floor thanks to the ingeniously organized space in the luggage compartment for charging cables.
